Posthoornkerk

The Posthoornkerk church is the first church in Amsterdam designed by architect PJH Cuypers, who later went on to design Amsterdam central station and the Rijksmuseum.

Construction of the church began in September 1861. The church towers were erected between 1887 and 1889.

In the 1970s the church was threatened with demolition but thankfully this was avoided and in 1989 the renovated building was opened.
